PRODUCER'S WORDS
On the stage of history, powerful kings and leaders seem to grasp the pulse of international affairs. However, these once-invincible monarchs and ministers also cannot escape the fate of being reduced to dust when history turns its pages. Who, then, is the true driver of human history? Faced with economic turmoil, climate change, and the calamities of war in the 21st century, how should we conduct ourselves to maintain a firm footing amidst the currents of history?
The books of Kings reveal God’s revelations on earth – only by doing what is right in the Lord’s eyes can we pave the way for prosperity and blessings. The Lord is a God of justice, uprightness, and loving faithfulness. He does not wish for people on earth to perish with the sinful world; He sends prophets to proclaim His words: “Turn from your evil ways and keep my commands and statutes, according to the entire Law that I commanded your ancestors and that I delivered to you through my servants the prophets.” (2 Kings 17:13)
Through true history, the books of Kings point us in the right direction today – the Lord God is the driver of human history, and only He holds all the answers to our lives. Those who hear God’s revelations and obey are the ones who will be blessed. ~ Reverend Susan Chen

.The Introduction of Kings
The Book of Kings records that the United Kingdom of the Twelve Tribes of Israel split into the North and the South after the deaths of David and Solomon. Since then, the southern and northern kingdoms fell into the control of idols and lies, the killings of kings, and the chaos of life. Do you feel that this is very similar to today’s environment where right and wrong are not distinguished, where “people fight against people, and countries attack against countries”?
Precisely because we need to know the way out of absurdity and disputes, God presents the historical truths of the Book of Kings in the Bible as a mirror for us today. Through the Book of Kings, God points out a blessed and peaceful path for us. We sincerely wish for you to become a wise person, using God’s words in the Bible as a lamp for your feet and a light on your path!
1 and 2 Chronicles presents God’s precious revelation to Christians:
- History is His Story!
- The service of the prophets in delivering God’s will surpasses the deeds of the kings of Israel and Judah.
- The meaning of life lies in doing what is right in the Lord’s eyes.
- God’s revelations on earth – “Observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go.” (1 Kings 2:3)

On 7th October 2023, while Hamas the Islamist militant group was attacking Israel with 5000 rockets, the production team of Spring of Water International Ministries (SOWIM) from North America and Taiwan was filming “The Kings Discipleship Life Bible Study” at Mt. Scopous in Jerusalem. As they were passing by the edge of battle, there was peace in the SOWIM team! Looking across the holy city of Jerusalem which has experienced many wars over the past thousand years, God’s words in the Bible became more real than ever – “Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” (Luke 21: 32-33)
In the smoke and flame, the SOWIM team witnessed the disastrous destruction of war! However, through the Holy Spirit in prayer, everyone was kindled with assurance and courage. The SOWIM filming team continued to move forward, and remained faithful to the mission entrusted by God, until the entire shooting of “The Kings Discipleship Life Bible Study” was completed.
In today’s strife and turmoil of “nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom”, SOWIM invites you to invest in the great commission of God’s eternal kingdom. On October 7 of last year, the filming of The Book of Kings began officially in Israel. This day coincided with the most severe military conflict in fifty years between Israel and Hamas. However, in the early morning of that very day, God had already provided a preparatory Scripture during Pastor Susan’s devotional time, bringing guidance and comfort for the challenges ahead with Nehemiah 2:20: “The God of heaven is the one who will give us success.” Despite the roar of fighter jets overhead and missiles flying, the SOWIM team persevered in filming with unwavering faith in God. Praise the Lord! Miraculously, they completed all scheduled filming over eight consecutive days on the war-torn soil of Israel.
From planning, scripting, filming, post-production, and to the final completion, the discipleship Bible study materials of The Book of Kings took two years and three months. On November 9, during SOWIM’s 15th-anniversary banquet, The Book of Kings discipleship Bible study film and materials were officially launched. It was by God’s moving of many brothers and sisters to join with SOWIM selflessly, completing this entrusted task precisely in God’s appointed time.
We personally experienced the fundraising journey for The Book of Kings as a demonstration of God’s mighty faithfulness. With God, there is no lack and nothing is too difficult. Praise the Lord! The funds needed to produce the entire set of materials—including a discipleship Bible study textbook and the on-site filmed video in Israel, totaling USD $265,000—have been fully provided. The launch of The Book of Kings discipleship Bible study materials before the end of 2024 aligns precisely with God’s timing. God is indeed the true producer and director of The Book of Kings.
Today, although we face numerous challenges—escalating international tensions and the moral decline of society—The Book of Kings will clearly reveal God’s revelation to people, illuminating the path forward. Let us come together in gratitude to God, united in Jesus Christ’s Great Commission, spreading God’s word to the ends of the earth!
