The Valley of Aijalon
The Valley of Aijalon is located in the Shephelah lowland, about 10 miles northwest of Jerusalem, directly west of Gibeon. Joshua rescued the Gibeonites from the Amorite coalition and pursued the enemies down through the descent of Beth-horon, across the Valley of Aijalon. He asked the Lord to lengthen the day. “Sun, stand still on Gibeon, and Moon, in the valley of Aijalon” (Joshua 10:11-14). The Lord granted his request.
Today, a panoramic hilltop view can be seen from Canada Park, an Israeli national park.
