February 2019【Bringing the Gospel Back to Jerusalem】

Dear brothers and sisters, peace be with you! I will be leaving for Egypt next week to bring the Arabic version of SOW’s Book of Esther Bible study set to Egypt, its neighboring countries, and the churches in the Palestinian Autonomous Areas. This is my first trip to Egypt and is also the first time the SOW team teaches the Christians in the Arab countries how to use our Bible Study sets. It is estimated that about 1,000 pastors and coworkers will attend the meetings. We expect to hand out 500 Bible study sets. If you are moved to support these study guides, please click here. We will visit the churches in Cairo and neighboring cities, a local seminary, and a historical monastery. In the early church history, Alexandria in Egypt was an important city where the church fathers studied the Scripture and spread the Gospel. The first Greek translation of the Hebrew Old Testament, commonly called the Septuagint, was accomplished by 72 translators working together in Alexandria. Egypt was once an important place for spreading the Gospel in the the New Testament era. Although it has been controlled by the Islam religion for a long time now, God did not forget his people when the Gospel is on its way back to Jerusalem, and He raises waves of spiritual revival in Egypt. We will see thousands of Muslims become followers of Jesus Christ. Three years ago, God moved us to start the “Muslim 1000” to send 1000 Bible study sets to missionaries in Muslim countries. In the last three years, the results have far exceeded our imagination. You are welcome to click here to hear the testimonies from these missionaries. Today, God also marvelously opened the door to the Arab countries in the Middle East. Without God’s leading, we won’t be able to know these Arabic churches on the other side of the Earth. Now as I am about to start my journey, I pray courageously in my heart by the faith in God, “I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.”  (Psalms 9:1-2) “Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion. Declare his deeds among the peoples.”  (Psalms 9:11) Today, we are the children of God’s family, and God’s salvation and blessings should be shared and spread through us. Regardless of our race or language, we not only receive the blessings from God, but also should be the channel of God’s blessings. Our families, work, communities, and countries will be blessed because of us. Furthermore, we should have the eternal vision to preach the Gospel to all the people and nations, because this is what will happen in Heaven in the future: “After this I looked, and there was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, robed in white, with palm branches in their hands. They cried out in a loud voice, saying, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!’”  (Rev. 7:9-10) May God’s grace and peace be with you every day, and may your life be filled with glory and joy.
